Call g the number of girls and b the number of boys.

These are the equations that represent the situation:

1) g = 4 + 2b

2) g/2 - b = 2

To solve it you can multiply the second by 2:

=> 2 { g/2 - b = 2 }

=> g - 2b = 4

As you can see this equation is equivalent to the first equation, so this system is not determined (it has infinite solutions).

A ladder is placed 30 inches from a wall. It touches the wall at a height of 50 inches from the ground.
tankabanditka [31]
To find the length of the ladder, you need to do Pythagorean theorem.
50^2 + 30^2 = x^2
2500 + 900 = x^2
x^2 =3400
x= square root of 3400
58.31 OR 10 root34

To find the angle:
tan theta = opposite/adjacent
50/30 = 5/3
theta = tan inverse of 5/3
= 59.04

1. In the given figure O is the centre and PQ is the diameter of the circle. if the chord PR is produced to S and QR is joined t
Ksenya-84 [330]

Answer:

90°

Step-by-step explanation:

since PQ is the diameter of the circle, m L PRQ = ½ × 180° = 90°.

so, as a supplementary to L PRQ, the value of angle QRS = 180 - m L PRQ = 180-90 =90°

Explain how to graph the in inequality 8>y
insens350 [35]

Answer:

How to Graph a Linear Inequality

First, graph the "equals" line, then shade in the correct area.

There are three steps:

1.) Rearrange the equation so "y" is on the left and everything else on the right.

2.) Plot the "y=" line (make it a solid line for y≤ or y≥, and a dashed line for y< or y>)

4.) Shade above the line for a "greater than" (y> or y≥) or below the line for a "less than" (y< or y≤).

Hope This Helps! Have A Nice Day!!

Answer:

a) Point estimate of sample mean = 68

b) Point estimate of standard deviation (4 decimals) = 17.8122

Step-by-step explanation:

a) Point estimate of sample mean, \bar{x}  =  ∑Xi / n = (57 + 61 + 85 + 74 + 73 + 72 + 20 + 58 + 81 + 78 + 84 + 73)/12 = 68

b) Point estimate of standard deviation = sqrt ∑ Xi² - n\bar{x}² / n-1)

= sqrt(((57 - 68)^2 + (61 - 68)^2 + (85 - 68)^2 + (74 - 68)^2 + (73 - 68)^2 + (72 - 68)^2 + (20 - 68)^2 + (58 - 68)^2 + (81 - 68)^2 + (78 - 68)^2 + (84 - 68)^2 + (73 - 68)^2)/11) = 17.8122
