Well 3+4=7   so you have two different drawings which removes one marble if you draw and then you have 6. so first, you have 3/7 green and 4/7 to draw black marble. After then, you have either a 3/7 green and 3/7 black chance or a 2/7 green and 4/7 black chance to pull a color. you're more likely to pull a black marble first, then after getting a black marble you have a 50/50 chance of pulling either back or green.

What is the question though. What am I supposed to be figuring out. The probability? The colors of the marbles? Were there options? I don't understand what you're asking.

How do I work with percents? Describe Please!
ella [17]
With what in regard? For fractions, percentage is relative to the amount “full”. Think or a bottle of water, if it’s 50% full, it’s got 1/2 (50/100) filled with water. Simplifying is the process of taking a big fraction, say, 12/36, and finding the similarity to reduce it. 12 and 36 are both even, so let’s try to divide it by 2. 12/2 is 6, and 36/2 is 18. 6/18. However this is simplified it is not in simplest form, so we can divide It again. 6/2 is 3, and 18/2 9. 3/9 can be reduced by 3, making 1/3. 1/3 is the simplest form.

The sum of two numbers 10 and the difference of those two numbers is 18 (use f to represent the first number and s to represent
PtichkaEL [24]
F + s = 10

| f - s | = 18

-------

This means that:

f = 10 - s

And also that:

| f - s | = 18

(f-s)²=18²

f²- 2sf + s² = 324

But f=10-s

So...

(10-s)² - 2s(10-s) + s² = 324

(10-s)(10-s) - 20s + 2s² + s² = 324

100 - 20s + s² - 20s + 2s² + s² = 324

4s² - 40s + 100 = 324

4s² - 40s + 100 - 324 = 0

4s² - 40s - 224 = 0

1/4 * (4s² - 40s - 224) = 1/4 * 0

s² - 10s - 56 = 0

(s-14)(s+4)=0

So s can be either 14 or -4.

When s = 14, f = -4.

When s = -4, f = 14.
