Why is Odysseus’ success so remarkable? What does his defeat of the Cyclops tell you about heroes? Why did Odysseus succeed? Wha
irakobra [83]

1. Odysseus' success is remarkable because he was able to defeat a monster much stronger than himself, without using physical force and without much effort.

2. The defeat of the Cyclops shows that heroes must have more than physical strength and courage. It is necessary that they are intelligent, rational and reflective, since not every battle is won through force, but through reasoning.

3. The surprising thing is that Odysseus even managed to make sure that the Cyclops had no help. Making it impossible for Odysseus to be injured or killed, or for anyone to seek revenge.

4. Odysseus is a hero because he managed to avenge the men that the Cyclops killed as well as being able to lead a team on the path that led them to their goals.
