Let
x = minutes used for jogging
y = minutes used for handball
z = minutes used for cycling

Th total time spent is 1 hour (60 minutes), therefore
x + y + z = 60

Because Mike jogs as long as he cycles, therefore
x = z
Therefore
2x + y = 60
or
y = 60 - 2x                 (1)

Jogging consumes 10 calories/min, handball consumes 9 calories/min and cycling consumes 12 calories/min.
The calories consumed in 60 minutes is 580, therefore
10 x + 9y + 12z = 580
Because x = z,
22x + 9y = 580          (2)

Substitute (1) into (2).
22x + 9(60 - 2x) = 580
22x + 540 - 18x = 580
4x = 40
x = 10
y = 60 - 2x = 40
z = x = 10

Answer:
10 minutes of jogging
40 minutes of handball
10 minutes of cycling.

Dennis_Churaev [7]

Answer:

The contribution margin is $29,650

The contribution margin ratio is 42.35%

Explanation:

Contribution Margin : The contribution margin shows a difference between sales revenue and variable cost.

For computing the contribution margin, the following formula is used which is shown below:

= Service revenue - Cleaning supplies - wages expenses

= $70,000 - $22,000 - $18,350

=$29,650

Thus, the contribution margin is $29,650

Now, the contribution margin ratio is a ratio between contribution margin and sales.

In mathematically,

Contribution margin ratio = Contribution ÷ Service revenue

                                          = $29,650 ÷ $70,000

                                          = 42.35%

Hence, the contribution margin ratio is 42.35%

An employee has enrolled in his company's nonqualified deferred compensation plan. The benefit paid at the time of the employee'
OLga [1]

Answer:

A) taxable as ordinary income to the employee and can be taken as a deduction by the employer.

Explanation:

When an employee defers to receive the compensation plan he gets the benefit of lower tax bracket each year, ultimately decreasing his tax liability.

Further when he receives the complete amount his income stands taxable. Accordingly at that time ordinary tax rates as per FICA are applicable.

On the employers part it is only deductible when the employee includes it in the income of the year, and pays tax on such compensation received.

Thus, when he receives it as compensation on retirement it is normally taxable at ordinary rates to the employee and deduction can be claimed by the employer.
