Answer:Sample 1

Explanation:

Given

N=sample size=64

for first sample

mean (\mu )=10

variance(\sigma ^2)=16

standard deviation(\sigma )=4

Standard error of the mean=\frac{\sigma }{\sqrt{N}}

=\frac{4}{\sqrt{64}}

=\frac{4}{8}=0.5

For second sample

mean (\mu )=25

variance(\sigma ^2)=9

standard deviation(\sigma )=3

Standard error of the mean=\frac{\sigma }{\sqrt{N}}

=\frac{3}{\sqrt{64}}

=\frac{3}{8}=0.375

It is observed error for sample 1 is more than error in sample 2 thus

Thus sample 1 is associated with a larger standard error of the mean

Answer:

Sexism

Explanation:

Sexism is a stereotype or prejudice that is based on a individual's biological sex. Though sexism majorly affects females (girls and women), it is not limited to just females it can also affect males (boys ad men). Sexism is liked to gender roles ad also includes beliefs that a biological sex is superior to the other biological sex.

From the example, males were more considered for the managerial position over females, because of sexism and the belief that the male gender is superior to the female gender.

Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of both covert and overt research methods.
andrew-mc [135]

Answer with Explanation:

Overt and Covert research methods are both used in <em>observing subjects.</em> The main difference relies on the "awareness" of the <em>subjects/participants</em> being studied.

In an overt research method, the subjects are <u>aware</u> that they are participating in the study while in a covert research method, the subjects are <u>unaware.</u>

The advantages of overt research method is that the participants have <em>informed consent.</em> So, whatever happens is not the fault of the researcher. Since the participants are aware, it becomes easier for the researcher to record events in their presence. On the contrary, it brings about some disadvantages. Since the participants know that they are being observed, they may be<em> inclined to change their behavior.</em> This is called the "Hawthorne Effect." This affects the validity of the outcome of the research.

The advantages of the covert research  method is its <u>more valid outcome of research.</u> The participants are <em>naturally behaving,</em> which means that it is more valid as a method than the overt. It is also easier to access closed groups because they are unaware you are observing them. However, one disadvantage is the "deception" it needs to tackle as it <em>doesn't ask informed consen</em>t from its subjects. This has always raised ethical concern, especially for people who value their privacy.

So, this explains the answer.
