The Block Chairman  <span>(president) of Panchayat Samiti (in hindi) is a level of the panchayat raj framework. It is a villahe based local government body at a lower level in India. It works for the towns of the tahsil that together are known as development block. The Panchayat Samiti is the connection between the gram panchayat (town/ village committee) and the zila parishad (dist. board). These chairmans usually coordinate and judge local issues at the village or town level.   </span><span />
