What was the difference in the election requirements in the 1800 and 1830s?

The difference is that back in the election of 1800, the person that lost would be the Vice President and the person that won is the president. When they wrote the constitution they decided that this way was unfair so they added Amendment 12 of Article ll of the constitution case along in 1804. It stated that there are separate ballots for both President and Vice President. To this day we actual vote for the electors and then the elector vote for the President and the Vice President. Congress has gotten many proposals to alter or abolish the Electoral Collage. Although is has caused problems, the Electoral Collage remains an important part of the way we elect the President and Vice President as well.
