The answer is Battle of the Coral Sea.

The Battle of the Coral Sea denied the Japanese the opportunity to attack Australia.

The battle was fought between the 4-8th May 1942. It was part of the wider Pacific Theater of the second World War II.

The Japanese Navy plans to launch attacks on Australia were intercepted by US intelligence.

This led the US and the Royal Australian Navy to counter the Japanese Advance.

Tactically, the battle was won by the Japanese since they were able to sink more ships and cause more damage.

However, it was a strategic win for the allies as it was the first time that a major Japanese navy attack was stopped in between the ocean.

After this battle, the Japanese were not able to attack Australian territory throughout the war.

What other factors might cause a mass migration
olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

War, religious persecution, Economic crash

Explanation:

The Irish Migration was largely due to religious persecution and economic decline. War could easily cause a migration for fear of personal safety, we have seen an increase in immigrants from Central America and Syria in recent years. Religious freedom is partially what the US was founded on, it continues to be a life or death issue under ISIS and other organization who use religion as an excuse for violence. Economic crash leads to movement based on new opportunities.
