Why is an interview with a career portfolio more likely to be hired than a person without one?

Answer:

Simply put, it shows that the person wanting to be employed has prior experience and is able to have a tangible record of said experience. It can also show that the person with a career portfolio seems to be much more professional than the person without it. It can also show an employer that the person [with the portfolio] is professional, takes their job seriously, is organized, etc.  

Out of personal experience, make sure to have a portfolio or resume handy in an interview! :)
