The answer is option A "<span>Her stomach rumbled like an approaching train." Smiles are two things being compared but using the words like or as, in this case they are comparing her stomach, and a train. (also having like in the sentence) Also remember the metaphors are also comparing two things but they do NOT have like or as, only similes.

Hope this helps!

Makovka662 [10]

The only method that will aid in sobering him up is allowing for time to pass.

Something it is sobering is severe, or even a bit traumatic. it's sobering to analyze that a person you adore is very ill. You could use the adjective sobering whilst you communicate about the news that feels heavy and vital.

This adjective method the other of playful or inebriated. when attending a funeral, you're anticipated to be sober in each sense. The maximum not unusual which means of sober is "not inebriated" — people who pressure need to be sober. Sober sounds plenty like somber, and it frequently approaches unhappy and quiet too, or every now and then too serious.

Some common synonyms of sober are earnest, grave, sedate, severe, solemn, and staid. At the same time as a majority of these phrases imply "no longer mild or frivolous," sober stresses seriousness of purpose and absence of levity or frivolity.

Which was a major source of friction between Native Americans and the English Colonists?
a.) differing ideas about land use and land ownership
Native Americans were really tense because the English colonists would chop down the trees and dig the earth, and they also thought that they were using their land, which the English settlers were obliviously.

Which was a major cause of the French and Indian War?
c.) competition between France and England for land and power.
If I'm not mistaken, the French and and Indian War was caused by both France and England; they both wanted to extend their colonies into the Ohio Territory.

I hope this helps:)

Why did people begin to dislike the Republican Party?
Aleonysh [2.5K]

Answer:

The Republican Party today is basically a coalition of grievances united by one thing: hatred. Hatred of immigrants, hatred of minorities, hatred of intellectuals, hatred of gays, feminists and many other groups too numerous to mention. What binds them together is hatred of Democrats because they are welcoming to every group that Republicans reject.
