Let s = #small notebooks

Let L = #large notebooks

We Can set up two equations from the info given.

s + L = 6           bought 6 notebooks total

8s + 10L = 56    spent $56

Solve equation 1 for one variable.

L = 6-s

Plug 6-s in equation 2 in place of L

and solve for s

8s + 10(6-s) = 56

8s + 60 - 10s = 56

-2s + 60 = 56

-2s = -4

s = (-4)/(-2)

s = 2

We know s+L = 6 and s=2

2+L = 6

L = 4

4 large notebooks and 2 small notebooks

were purchased

The lengths of the sides of a triangle are given below. Classify the triangle as acute, obtuse, or right.
abruzzese [7]

Answer:

  • A. Acute Triangle

Step-by-step explanation:

Lets verify with Pythagorean:

  • 17² = 289
  • 13² + 14² = 169 + 196 = 365
  • 289 < 365

The angle opposite to a greater side is less than 90° and the sum of the squares are close.

It means all three angles are less than 90°.

With this the triangle is acute.

Correct choice is A.

Find the quotient 3/18 divided by 7/21
igor_vitrenko [27]
This is the same as 3/18 x 21/7, which you can simplify to 1/6 x 3, which is 3/6 also a half. So the answer is 1/2
