so, BC = DE + EF + FC = 4 + 10 + 4 = 18 inches

Area of trapezium = $\frac{1}{2} \times (AB+BC) \times {AE}$

Area of trapezium = $\frac{1}{2} \times (10+18) \times 14$

On solving , we get,

Area of trapezium = $196$
