X+y=29
60x+90y=2100

substitute the value of x as (29-y) in the second equation
60(29-y) + 90y =2100
30y = 2100-1740=360
y=12 so x=17
so 17  general tickets were sold and 12 vip tickets were sold.

Answer:

Jack sold 17 admission tickets and 12 vip tickets.

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Let´s name the variables as:

x=number of admission tickets

y=number of vip tickets

2. As the problem says Jack sold a total of 29 tickets, it can be expressed as:

x+y=29 (Eq.1)

3. As the general admission tickets are $60, the vip tickets are $90 and he made $2100, it can be expressed as:

60x+90y=2100 (Eq.2)

4. Solve for x on the Eq.1:

x=29-y (Eq.3)

5. Replace Eq.3 in Eq.2:

60(29-y)+90y=2100\\1740-60y+90y=2100\\-60y+90y=2100-1740\\30y=2100-1740\\30y=360\\y=\frac{360}{30}\\y=12

6. Replace the value of y in Eq.3:

x=29-12\\x=17

Therefore Jack sold 17 admission tickets and 12 vip tickets.

What is the value of the fourth term in a geometric sequence for which a1=30 and r=1/2
lisov135 [29]

Answer:

a(4) = 15/4

Step-by-step explanation:

The general formula for a geometric series with common ratio r and first term a(1) is

a(n) = a(1)*r^(n - 1)

and so, if a(1) = 30 and r = 1/2, we have

a(n) = 30*(1/2)^(n - 1)

and the fourth term is then:

a(4) = 30*(1/2)^(4 - 1) = 30/8 = 15/4

Find the missing value so<br> that the two points have a<br> slope of -13/2 (-2,y) and (0,-4
Art [367]

Answer:

y=9

Step-by-step explanation:

slope is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1), so we plug in the values. (-4-y)/(0 - (-2)). so we get -4-y/2 since zero minus negative 2 is positive 2. given the slope is -13/2, -4-y must be equal to negative 13. So we set an equation of -13 = -4 - y. We add 4 to 13, and get -9 = -y. We multiply each side by a -1, and we get y equals 9.

We can check this by plugging 9 back into our original slope equation. (-4-9)/(0-(-2) which gives us -13/2.
