FOIL method
First:
u squared times u squared equals to u to the fourth.
Outer and Inner:
8u squared + u squared equal 9u squared. Remember, the exponents don't change when adding!
Last:
8 times 1 equals 8

What is the x in 4x-5=8
ale4655 [162]

Answer:

x= 3.25

Step-by-step explanation:

4x-5=8

1. Take the -5 to the other side as a plus so now your question is

4x=13

2. to get the x by its self divide both sides by 4.

13 divided by 4 is 3.25

therefore x=3.25

Write equivalent expressions of 18m+42n
serious [3.7K]

Answer:

See explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

18m + 42n

These two variables are not the same, so we can't add the two terms. However, we can factor out a number out of this expression.

The GCF of 18 and 42 is 6.

We can draw 6 out of this expression to get 6(3m + 7n).

This is an equivalent expression.

We can also draw 2 out to get 2(9m + 21n).

We can also draw 3 out to get 3(6m + 14n).

We can also draw 1/2 out to get (1/2)(36m + 84n).

There are endless possibilities, but these are a few. You get the idea!

liraira [26]

For x such that 0 < x < \frac{\pi}{2}, the mathematical expression is:

\frac{\sqrt{1 \;-cos^2x} }{sinx} + \frac{\sqrt{1 \;-sin^2x} }{cosx} = 1+1=2

<u>Given the following data:</u>

  • \frac{\sqrt{1 \;-cos^2x} }{sinx}

  • \frac{\sqrt{1 \;-sin^2x} }{cosx}

In Trigonometry, you should take note of the following mathematical expression:

sin^2x + cos^2x = 1

Therefore, we can obtain the following:

sin^2x  = 1 - cos^2x   ...equation 1.

cos^2x = 1 - sin^2x    ...equation 2.

Substituting the equations respectively, we have:

\frac{\sqrt{1 \;-cos^2x} }{sinx} + \frac{\sqrt{1 \;-sin^2x} }{cosx} = \frac{\sqrt{sin^2x} }{sinx} + \frac{\sqrt{cos^2x} }{cosx}\\\\

Taking the square roots, we have:

\frac{sinx}{sinx} + \frac{cosx}{cosx} = 1 +1\\\\1+1=2

Therefore, for x such that 0 < x < \frac{\pi}{2}, the expression is:

\frac{\sqrt{1 \;-cos^2x} }{sinx} + \frac{\sqrt{1 \;-sin^2x} }{cosx} = 1+1=2
