43.87 - 8 = 35.87  (sandals)
9.49 + 9.49 = 18.98 ( for two t-shirts)
35.87 - 18.98 = 16.89 (t-shirts)
16.89 - 2.87 = 14.02 (taxes) 
Andrea payed $14.02 for a pair of jeans
