The Lend-Lease Act allowed the U.S.  to trade with Great Britain and remain neutral. This was the means for providing the United States military aid to foreign nations during World War II. This act authorizes the president to transfer arms or any other materials for which Congress appropriated money “ the government of any country whose defense the President deems vital to the defense of the United States.”  The act of allowing the transfer of supplies without compensation to foreign countries permitted US to support its war interests.
