The additive inverse of a number is a number, that when added to the original number, results in 0. So, basically, the additive inverse is the opposite...another words, it is the same number with a different sign

5....the additive inverse is -5....because 5 - 5 = 0
-2...the additive inverse is 2....because -2 + 2 = 0
1/3....the additive inverse is -1/3.....1/3 - 1/3 = 0

1.What is the intersection of all the open intervals containing the closed interval [0,1]? Justify your answer.
ExtremeBDS [4]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

1)

We can find an open interval (-\frac{1}{n}, 1+\frac{1}{n}). Which contains the closed interval [0,1] when n \to \infinity

Therefore, the intersection of all the open intervals containing [0,1[/tex[ is [tex][0,1]

2)

We can find closed intervals containing [0,1] in (-\frac{1}{n}, 1+\frac{1}{n}) when n \to \infinity

Since (-\frac{1}{n}, 1+\frac{1}{n}) is closed, the intersection of all those intervals containing [0,1[/tex[ is the closed interval [tex][0,1]

nata0808 [166]

Answer:

V = 36 ft³

General Formulas and Concepts:

<u>Pre-Alg</u>

  • Order of Operations: BPEMDAS

<u>Geometry</u>

  • Volume of a Rectangular Prism: V = whl

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1: Define variables</u>

w = 3 ft

l = 6 ft

h = 2 ft

<u>Step 2: Find Volume</u>

  1. Substitute:                    V = (3 ft)(6 ft)(2 ft)
  2. Multiply:                        V = (18 ft²)(2 ft)
  3. Multiply:                        V = 36 ft³
