The additive inverse of a number is a number, that when added to the original number, results in 0. So, basically, the additive inverse is the opposite...another words, it is the same number with a different sign

5....the additive inverse is -5....because 5 - 5 = 0
-2...the additive inverse is 2....because -2 + 2 = 0
1/3....the additive inverse is -1/3.....1/3 - 1/3 = 0

Determine which lines in the diagram are parallel. A) a || b B) b || c C) a || c D) b || d
spayn [35]

Line a and line c are parallel lines that are given as a || c. Then the correct option is C.

How are parallel straight lines related?

Parallel lines have the same slope since the slope is like a measure of steepness and since parallel lines are of the same steepness, thus, are of the same slope.

Since the given parallel line has equation y = 2x + 2, thus its slope is 2 and thus, the slope of the needed line is 2 too.

Then we have

The distance between line a and line c is constant. Then line a and line c are parallel lines.

Line a || line c. Then the correct option is C.

Find the equivalent expression of 3+2(2p+4t)
NISA [10]

Remember to follow PEMDAS, and to only combine terms with like variables.

First, distribute the 2 to all terms within the parenthesis:

2(2p + 4t) = 2(2p) + 2(4t) = 4p + 8t

3 + 4p + 8t, or (D), is your answer choice, for it cannot be simplified anymore.

Solve.
6n + 12 = -60 - 35
DedPeter [7]

Answer:

6n + 12 = -60 - 35

-12              -12

6n = -107

Divide by 6 on both sides:

N = -17.8333333333  around -17

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to isolate the variable meaning keeping the variable by itself on the left side. In order to do that we must get rid of any constants or co-efficients.
