(2a 2 + a + 3) (a - 1) Please help
ArbitrLikvidat [17]
Hey there!

You can use distributive property, as I mentioned in your previous questions.

multiply...
2a² × a = 2a³
2a² × -1 = -2a²
a × a = a²
a × -1 = -a
3 × a = 3a
3 × -1 = -3

add all those terms..
2a³ - 2a² + a² - a + 3a - 3
add the like terms

2a³ - a² + 2a - 3

Hope this helped :)

two hundred tickets for the school play were sold. tickets cost $2 for students and $3 for adults. the total amount collected wa
Gre4nikov [31]
A system of equations is good for a problem like this.
Let x be the number of student tickets sold
Let y be the number of adult tickets sold
x + y = 200
2x + 3y = 490
x = 200 - y
2(200 - y) + 3y = 490
400 - 2y + 3y = 490
400 + y = 490
y = 90
The number of adult tickets sold was 90.
x + 90 = 200 --> x = 110
2x + 3(90) = 490 --> 2x + 270 = 490 --> 2x = 220 --> x = 110
The number student tickets sold was 110.
