<span>In the Declaration of Independence, Jefferson considers the following truths to be self-evident: 1) That all men are created equal; 2) That they are “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.” 3) He then specifies these rights as - the right to life, 4) the right to liberty and 5) the right to "the pursuit of happiness." Though the English philosopher (John Locke) that probably influenced Jefferson's thoughts and words put it this way - the right to life, the right to liberty, and the right to property (or estate), instead of 'the pursuit of happiness.'</span>

The Constitution was drafted by the Second Constituent Assembly following the failure of the First Constituent Assembly to produce a constitution in its mandated period after the devastating earthquake in April 2015.
