Hi

3 dinners at $9 each.
9 x 3

2 kids' meals at $4 each
9 x 3 + 4 x 2

4 desserts at $3 each
9 x 3 + 4 x 2 + 4 x 3

$10 dollar off coupon
9 x 3 + 4 x 2 + 4 x 3 - 10

Solve using PEMDAS
9 x 3 + 4 x 2 + 4 x 3 - 10 = ?
27 + 8 + 12 - 10 = ?
35 + 12 - 10 = ?
47 - 10 = ?
37

The answer is 37

Hope this helps! :)

So the total price is 3.9+2.4.+4.3 right?
(. Means multiply)
So 27+8+12 right?
So you get 47 before the coupon.
And taking 10 dollars off you get 37
Hope this helps!!

(0, -2) Correct or not?

Make f(x) = y
f(x)= -1/8 (4) ^x+3 +6
y = -1/8 (4) ^x+3 +6
y-intercept is when the function crosses the y-axis, and the y-axis is always where x = 0
y = -1/8 (4) ^x+3 +6
y = -1/8 ( {4}^{0})+9 \\  {(anything)}^{0}  = 1 \\ y = -1/8 (1)+9 = 9 - (1 \div 8)  \\ = 8 \: (7 \div 8)
or was the equation instead:
y = -1/8 ( {4}^{(x + 3)})+6
???????
Because in that case it's totally different, so here goes...
y = -1/8 ( {4}^{(x + 3)})+6 \\ y = -1/8 ( {4}^{(0 + 3)})+6 \\ y = -1/8 ( {4}^{3})+6 \\ y = -1/8 (64)+6
y = -1/1 (8)+6 =  - 8 + 6 =  - 2
Therefore, yes it is correct that the y-intercept lies at the point (0, -2)

Laura has a total of 13 books. To pick 3 out of this 13 books is expressed as 13C3 which is equal to 286. Now to pick a science and 2 mathematics books may be expressed as,
                                       (4C2) x (6C1) = 36
The probability is the quotient when 36 is dived by 286. The answer is 18/143 which is approximately equal to 0.126.

Answer:

x=12

Prove that the cube root of 2 is irrational.
harina [27]
The cube root of 2 is irrational. The proof that the square root of 2 is irrational may be used, with only slight modification. Assume the cube root of 2 is rational. Then, it may be written as a/b, where a and b are integers with no common factors. (This is possible for all nonzero rational numbers). Since a/b is the cube root of 2, its cube must equal 2. That is, (a/b)3 = 2 a3/b3 = 2 a3 = 2b3. The right side is even, so the left side must be even also, thatis, a3 is even. Since a3 is even, a is also even (because the cube of an odd number is always odd). Since a is even, there exists an integer c such that a = 2c. Now, (2c)3 = 2b3 8c3 = 2b3 4c3 = b3. The left side is now even, so the right side must be even too. The product of two odd numbers is always odd, so b3 cannot be odd; it must be even. Therefore b is even as well. Since a and b are both even, the fraction a/b is not in lowest terms, thus contradicting our initial assumption. Since the initial assumption cannot have been true, it must <span>be false, and the cube root of 2 is irrational.

IF YOU ARE REALLY GOOD A MATH THEN PLEASE ANSWER THIS !!!
Anarel [89]

Hey there!

Let's take the number of cows in the field as 'c'.

Then, the number of horses in the field is = c + 2 [2 <em>more</em> horses than cows]

Total number of animals on the field = 16.

So, equation becomes...

c + c + 2 = 16

<u>2c + 2 = 16</u>

Hope it helps ya!
