Just replace all variables that r with the variable r equivalent.

So, the expression 9 + r * 3 becomes 9 + 12 * 3

Use the order of operations to solve.

9 + 12 * 3
9 + 36 <--- The order of operations says that multiplication and division
                   have a higher precedence than addition and subtraction.
45 <--- Simply add.

So, the answer is 45.

Due to pemdas you would have to start with multiplication. 3×12= 36. Then you do addition which would be 9+36= 45.

  • The notation |x| denotes absolute value.

The absolute value of a number is its distance from zero.

Absolute value is always positive; distances can't be negative, right?

So we need to find the absolute value of 98, which is:

Solve the literal equation for x.
g=4x+5xy
Tasya [4]

The literal equation for x is g/4+5y

Subject of formula

This is a way of representing a variable in terms of another

Given the equation below;

g=4x+5xy

Factor out x to have

g=x(4 + 5y)

Divide both sides by 4 +5y to have:

g/4+5y = x

x = g/4+5y

Hence the literal equation for x is g/4+5y
