Protection motivation theory is referred to as the theory which was originally developed in order to assist clarify the fear appeals. The theory tends to proposes that individuals tends to protect and save themselves which is based on the following four factors: severity of the threatening event, probability of vulnerability or occurrence, efficacy of preventive behavior and self efficacy.
