Explanation:

Common sense was an essay written by Thomas Paine. It was first published on January 10, 1776, during the American Revolution. The essay exerted a great influence on public opinion during the war of American independence, presenting an argument against British rule at a time when the independence issue still caused suspicion and indecision in much of the settlers. Paine wrote the booklet in a simple style so that people could understand it without difficulty, renouncing philosophical and Latin language, widely used by the Enlightenment writers. Paine structured the work as if it were a sermon leaning on the Bible to convince the reader. He connected independence with the widespread Protestant faith and its dissident substrate to present it as an unmistakable American political identity. Historian Gordon S. Wood described Common Sense as "the most incendiary and popular booklet that was published during the revolutionary stage."

Peasants were now able to demand higher wages and better working conditions as landlords were not able to replace them with as much ease as previously. As a result peasants would be able to afford better living conditions'. After the plagues land and corn were plentiful, rents and restrictions reduced and standards of living improved.
