Volume = base X width X height.

You're missing you width, but you have your base and height, and volume. So;

480=8 X 4 X X
480=32x
x=15

What is the solution to the inequality below?
Svetlanka [38]

Answer:

B. x < -8 or x > 8

Step-by-step explanation:

You can use process of elimination to solve this problem by going through every solution and testing them out, but let's jump right to B.

Process:

You know that since the inequality states that x^2 has to be greater than 64, x  has to be more than 8, or less than -8.

This is because 8^2 = 64, and -8^2 = 64, and the inequality requires the answer to be more than 64.

Looking at B., you can see that if x is < -8, the square of, for example, -9, would be 81. This is greater than 64, so this works!

Now, B. also has an alternative. The 'or' is a major clue to which is the correct answer, since the square root of any number can be positive or negative. (-8^2 = 8^2)

The 'or' states that x must be greater than 8. So, for example, if we take the square of 10, we get 100, and that is also greater than 64.

We've proven that this solution is accurate for both parts, so it is definitely the one we want!

Hope this helps!

The Knicks and Nets have a total 30 players.
Blababa [14]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

From the problem statement, we can set up the following two equations:

K + N = 30

20K + 10N = 500

where K is the number of Knicks players, and N is the number of Nets players.

We can substitute the first equation into the second and solve for K

K + N = 30

N = 30 - K

20K + 10N = 500

20K + 10(30 - K) = 500

20K + 300 - 10K = 500

10K + 300 = 500

10K = 200

K = 20

A security expert claims that exactly 13% of all homeowners have a home security alarm. State H0 and Ha in words and in symbols
soldi70 [24.7K]

Answer:

Two tailed

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that a security expert claims that exactly 13% of all homeowners have a home security alarm.

Here we have to check whether the contention of security expert is correct or not

The test is to be done for the proportion of homeowners who have a home security alarm to total homeowners.

Let p be the proportion.

For this we set up hypotheses as:

H_0 = p = 13%=0.13\\H_a: p \neq 0.13

This is a two tailed test

Because alternate is for not equal to.  If alternate is for > or < we say one tailed and if not equal to we say two tailed.
