It's characterized by a legitimate procedure that — regardless of the possibility that we contend about regardless of whether the Supreme Court settled on the morally remedy choice—was lawful and inside their domain. <u>The United States presidential elections of year 2000 was known to be a disputed election. </u>It was closely fought between George W. Bush who was presidential candidate from Republican Party and his opponent was Al Gore who was presidential candidate from Democrats. The Initial results of these elections showed that Al Gore won the popular vote but both of the candidates were not even able to gather 270 votes which required to get the majority and become President of United States. <u>Then the all eyes in regards to elections moved towards Florida where the votes were so close that it required mandate to recount. </u>So, the issue was then taken to the Supreme court and the outcome of Bush Vs. Al Gore came in as Bush winning by 5-4 in court’s ruling. The elections of 2000 was the closest fought in United States Presidential history and it was also the first ever election in United States which was decided by Supreme Curt of United States. <u>When George W. Bush entered his office as a president, There were many who questioned his legitimacy. He proved to be polarizing figure during his presidency.  </u>
