To find the area you will need to begin with the information about the perimeter.  You will use the formula P = 2l + 2w.  You will replace what we know in this formula making it 72 = 2l + 2 (1/3l).  You will replace the width with the information we know about the width.  Simplify the expression on the right to make a new equation 72 = 2 2/3 l.  Solve for the length by dividing both sides by 2 2/3.  When you divide 72 by 2 2/3 you get 27 inches as your answer.  This is the length.  Once you know the length, you can take 1/3 of it (1/3 x 27) to get the width of 9 in.  Now that you know the length and the width, you will multiply these together (27 in. x 9 in) to get an area of 243 square inches!

5.5% is the smallest cuz u add 20 + 25= 45 and that minus 100 is 55 so then u divide it by the biggest number which is 10 and that equals 5.5. However, if it has to be a whole number then it would be 55 divided by 5 which would equal 11. Hope that helps

Architect Brian Peters spent 60% of a week's time working on drawings for a new apartment building. If Brian spent 18 hours work
Kipish [7]

Answer:

Brian Peters worked for total of 45 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the total number of hours worked be 'x'.

Now Given:

Hours spent on other projects = 18 hours.

Also Given:

60% of a week's time working on drawings for a new apartment building.

Hours spent on new apartment building = 60\%\times x = \frac{60}{100}x=0.6x

We need to find the total hours worked.

Solution:

Now we can say that;

total number of hours worked is equal to sum of Hours spent on new apartment building and Hours spent on other projects.

framing in equation form we get;

x=0.6x+18

Combining like terms we get;

x-0.6x=18\\\\x(1-0.6)=18\\\\0.4x=18

Now Dividing both side by 0.4 we get;

\frac{0.4x}{0.4}=\frac{18}{0.4}\\\\x=45\ hrs

Hence Brian Peters worked for total of 45 hours.

mamaluj [8]

Given:

Number of spheres = 2

Number of prisms = 3

Number of pyramids = 5

To find:

The probability that a pyramid will be selected.

Solution:

We have,

Favorable outcomes = Number of pyramids

                                  = 5

Total outcomes = Total number of figures

                          = 2+3+5

                          = 10

Now, the required probability is:

\text{Probability}=\dfrac{\text{Favorable outcomes}}{\text{Total outcomes}}

\text{Probability}=\dfrac{5}{10}

\text{Probability}=0.5

Therefore, the probability that a pyramid will be selected is 0.5.
