Ras is a g-protein that is activated when a growth factor attaches to egfr. its activation results in the in the exchange of gtp

for gdp. once activated, the gtp cannot be hydrolyzed and ras cannot be deactivated. what is one potential outcome of a mutation in one of the two copies of ras?

The mutation in the single copies leads to cancer because they permanently attached to the GTP and activate the unconditional cell division.

Further Explanation:

RASprotein has a specific role incancer. The mutation in this regulatorlike SPRED1 and neurofibromin has a significant role in cancer. A group of developmental techniques that is caused by germline mutations that leads to activation of RAS or MAPK. The person affected functions this disease may have a specific role in autism as well as other neurological.

It is a binary molecule that helps in changing the cycle that lies in middle of guanosine triphosphate (GTP) and inactive guanosinediphosphate (GDP). They are highly conserved between GDP and GTP binding proteins which are as distinct as bacterial elongation factor, heterotrimeric G-proteins and a myriad of small GTPases with various biological functions. Both of them control the activation and inactivation of RAS protein.

The mutation in the single copy of this protein leads to cancer. The mutated copies will permanently form a bond with GTP. It remains in activated form. It results in uncontrolled division of cells that leads to inactivated.

RAS is a very important protein that belongs to a class of protein referred to as GTPases and plays a crucial role in switching on pathways that control cell growth, proliferation, apoptosis and differentiation and migration. For RAS to become inactive it must hydrolyze GTP to GDP which slows down the process of cell proliferation. Mutation in one copies of RAS will result to cancer because the mutated copy will permanently attach to GTP and remain in activated form which will lead to uncontrollable cell division and hence development of cancer.

Typically, higher-order streams contain ________ water than lower-order streams.
makvit [3.9K]
Typically, higher order streams contain MORE water than lower order streams.
Stream ordering is a mean of classifying natural channels in a water shed based on their sizes. The first order stream is the smallest stream and the second order stream is bigger than the first. Thus, the amount of water in the first order stream will be less that that of second order.
