I'll do problem 12 to get you started

----------------------------------------

Part (a)

The ratio 3:6:7 means the three sides are 3x, 6x and 7x centimeters long. The x is some positive real number.

The longest side is 7x, which is also 16.1, so 7x = 16.1

Divide both sides by 7 to isolate x

7x = 16.1

7x/7 = 16.1/7

x = 2.3

Now we can calculate the other two sides

3x = 3*2.3 = 6.9

6x = 6*2.3 = 13.8

The other two sides are 6.9 cm and 13.8 cm

----------------------------------------

Part (b)

Add up the three sides to get

6.9 + 13.8 + 16.1 = 36.8

The perimeter is 36.8 cm.

PART ;

......Circle A.................
Circumference - 2 pi r
25.12 = 2pi(4)
25.12 = 8i
Divide both sides by 8!!
3.14=pi

...Circle B.....................
Circumference = 2 pi r
9.42 = 2pi(3/2)
9.42 = 3pi
Divide both sides by 3!!!
3.14 = pi

PART B

.............Circle A...............
A=pi r ^2
50.24 = pi(4)^2
50.24=16pi
Divide both sides by 16!!!
3.14=pi

.............Circle B.............
A=pi r^2
7.065=pi(3/2)^2
7.065= 9pi/4
Divide both sides by 9/4!!!
3.14=pi

PART C

They used exactly 3.14 for the value of pi in CIRCLE A and B to get the circumference and the area :D

I hope this makes sense!!!
When I wrote 'pi', it was supposed to be the symbol for pi.

What is the surface area of this rectangular prism?
Sloan [31]
Hello!

First of all, let's find the area of the bases. We can see that the base is 8 by 6, or 48. We have this onto the top as well. This gives us 96. We can multiply The area of each side (base,front, side) by two to get the other side. Then we will add.

48(2)=96 (Base)
42(2)=84 (Side)
56(2)=112 (Front)

Now we add all of our numbers up.

96+84+112=292

Therefore, our answer is B) 292 in²

I hope this helps!
