When the dissociation equation of NH3 is:

NH3(aq) + H2O ↔ NH4(aq)  +   OH-(aq)

when  Kb  =(1.8 x 10^-5)

and when PH+POH= 14

∴ POH = 14 -11= 3

when POH = -㏒[OH]

∴[OH] = 0.001

when [OH] = [NH4+] = 0.001

when Kb = [NH4+][OH-]/[NH4OH]

by substitution:

1.8 x 10^-5 = (0.001)^2 / [ NH4OH]

∴[NH4OH] = 0.06 M

<u>Answer:</u> The concentration of ammonia is 0.056 M

<u>Explanation:</u>

To calculate the hydroxide ion concentration, we first calculate pOH of the solution, which is:

pH + pOH = 14

We are given:

pH = 11.00

So, pOH=14-11.00=3.00

To calculate hydroxide ion concentration, we use the equation:

pOH=-\log[OH^-]

We know that:

pOH = 3.00

3.00=-\log [OH^-]

[OH^-]=10^{-3}M

The chemical equation for the hydrolysis of ammonia follows:

NH_3+H_2O\rightleftharpoons NH_4^++OH^-

Let the concentration of ammonia be 'x'

The expression of K_b for above equation follows:

K_b=\frac{[NH_4^+][OH^-]}{[NH_3]}

We are given:

K_b=1.8\times 10^{-5}

[NH_4^+]=[OH^-]=10^{-3}M

Putting values in above expression, we get:

1.8\times 10^{-5}=\frac{10^{-3}\times 10^{-3}}{x}\\\\x=\frac{10^{-6}}{1.8\times 10^{-5}}=0.056M

Hence, the concentration of ammonia is 0.056 M

The graph below shows how solubility changes with temperature.
Otrada [13]

The two solutions that have similar solubilities at 40°C will be Na₂HAsO₄ and Na₂SO₄.

<h3>What is solubity ?</h3>

It is the ability of a solute to be dissolved, especially in water.

As the temperature increases the solubility of the gas generally decreases"

According to given information and graph attached as reference ;

  • Solubility of NaCl (sodium chloride) at 40°C is 36.3 grams.
  • Solubility of Na₂SO₄ (sodium sulfate) at 40°C is 48.8 grams.
  • Solubility of Na₂HAsO₄ (sodium arsenate dibasic) at 40°C is 48.9
    grams.
  • Solubility of Ba(NO₃)₂ (barium nitrate) at 40°C is 14.1 grams.
  • Solubility of Ce₂(SO₄)₃·9H₂O (ceasium sulfate nonahydrate) at 40°C is 6.2 grams.

Someone please answer the question attached.
nikdorinn [45]

Answer:

Option ( 1 )

Explanation:

This atom has a cub close pack structure, and therefore - the number of edge center present in X atoms =  4,

Number of unit cells present in X atoms = 6

____________________________________________________

Now the 6th coordination number of X atom = 6 * 4 = 24,

So respectively, the 3rd coordination number of X = 8 -

And thus the ratio between the 6th coordination number and the 3rd coordination number = 24 / 8 = 3,

Option ( 1 )

Which process lets convection plays a role in the water cycle?
Sergio039 [100]
The best and most correct answer among the choices provided by your question is the third choice or letter C.

Convection is heat transfer by mass motion of a fluid such as air or water when the heated fluid is caused to move away from the source of heat, carrying energy with it. Convection plays a role in the water cycle when "<span> gases cycle up and down based on air pressure."

I hope my answer has come to your help. Thank you for posting your question here in Brainly.
