Before the Industrial Revolution, why did the population in Europe “hardly grow?”
AlladinOne [14]

Conditions before the Industrial Revolution were terrible. Child mortality was high and the children who survived, barely had enough to eat. You see, because of The Little Ice Age, agriculture was terrible. And before the revolution, most of Europe was agriculture based. The lack of food made people stunted and killed many. The food that could be harvested, were taxed and there was almost no profit.

What do you think would of happened if Theodosius had not divided the Roman Empire?
kvv77 [185]
If Theodosius had not divided the Roman Empire, I believe that the Roman Empire would not have been as corrupt and would have been stronger against it's enemies and it would stay alive longer. But, if he never did split the Roman Empire, then it would've kept growing to the point where it was too large and too hard to control, leading to Rome's fall.

What helped Columbus convince queen Isabella to pay for his voyage?
Mashutka [201]
Actually, there was not much convincing to do. King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella were eager to send an explorer to the "New World," with the hope he would find riches that could be claimed by Spain; also, the Queen was a fervent Catholic and she hoped the native populations could be converted.

What did president john adams want the alien and sedition acts to do?
rewona [7]
The Alien Acts were aimed at aliens, or people who lived in a country that were not citizens of that country, and the first one extended how many years that immigrants needed to wait before they were able to become a citizen, the next two gave the president the power to deport an immigrant without trial of they seemed dangerous to the nation. The Sedition Acts made it illegal for anyone to criticize the government or any government official.

hope this helps!
