his nutrient is cycled between living things and the soil. Plants absorb this nutrient from the soil and turn it into organic co
djverab [1.8K]

The nutrient is phosphorus

The phosphorus cycle

Phosphorus cycles between living components of the earth (biosphere) and the soil (geosphere).

The element's reservoir is mainly the sediments of the ocean and rocks. Phosphorus gets into the soil by weathering of rocks.

Plants are able to pick the element up from the soil and animals are able to get their phosphorus by consuming plants.

When plants and animal die, their body decomposes and the phosphorus in them enters the soil.

Thus, the cycle being referred to in the illustration is the phosphorus cycle.

Which of the following statements about drug resistance is FALSE?
ZanzabumX [31]

Answer:

The false statement is e. It is found only in gram-negative bacteria.

Explanation:

Drug resistance is a condition that is usually developed in bacteria because of the wrong use of medicines. This condition can cause a mutation and can be transferred with horizontal gene exchange, that does not require breed and it can happen between two grown bacteria. As it happens in all species of bacteria, therefore it's not only found in gram-negatives.

Which sequence correctly depicts the development of offspring?
JulijaS [17]

Answer:

The correct answer would be zygote...blastocyst...embryo...fetus.

The fertilization of sperm and egg results in the formation of zygote. It receives genetic material from a male as well as a female parent.

It divides with the help of mitotic divisions and results in the formation of 2, 4, 8, and 16 celled stages.

It results in the formation of the hollow spherical ball of cells termed as a blastocyst. The cells are distributed to form the outer layer termed trophoblast and inner cell mass which gives rise to the embryo.

Trophoblast help in the implantation of the blastocyst into the uterine wall.

The cells of the embryo undergo organogenesis during different organs such as heart, brain, lungs et cetera are formed.

In humans, almost 9 weeks after the fertilization the developing embryo is considered a fetus.

The fetus development continues until birth.

how do you think plant cells differ from animal cells? (Hint: what can plants do that animals cannot?
zvonat [6]
A difference between plant cells and animal cells is that most animal cells are round whereas most plant cells are rectangular.Plant cells have a rigid cell wall that surrounds the cell membrane. Animal cells do not have a cell wall. When looking under a microscope, the cell wall is an easy way to distinguish plant cells.

Difference Between Plant And Animal Cells 1 Chloroplast. Like animal cells plant cells have mitochondria. 2 Cell Wall. Animal cells do not contain a cell wall while plant cells and fungi cells do. 3 Vacuole. Vacuoles are very large membrane-bound sacs within plant cells.
