Mean can also be thought of as average.

Standard deviation is a bit more difficult to describe. It is a statistic that can help measure how spread out the data gets.

Depending on the distribution, data within 1 standard deviation of the mean can be considered fairly common and expected. Essentially it tells you that data is not exceptionally high or exceptionally low.

kumpel [21]

Answer:

For this case since the sample size is lower than 30 , n =20<30, is not appropiate use the normal standard distribution to calculate the confidence interval for the mean, and then for this case is better use the t distribution since takes in count the correction factor to approximate the distribution of the true parameter.

The confidence interval for the mean is given by the following formula:

\bar X \pm t_{\alpha/2}\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}}   (1)

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

A confidence interval is "a range of values that’s likely to include a population value with a certain degree of confidence. It is often expressed a % whereby a population means lies between an upper and lower interval".

The margin of error is the range of values below and above the sample statistic in a confidence interval.

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

\bar X represent the sample mean for the sample

\mu population mean (variable of interest)

s represent the sample standard deviation

n represent the sample size

Solution to the problem

For this case since the sample size is lower than 30 , n =20<30, is not appropiate use the normal standard distribution to calculate the confidence interval for the mean, and then for this case is better use the t distribution since takes in count the correction factor to approximate the distribution of the true parameter.

The confidence interval for the mean is given by the following formula:

\bar X \pm t_{\alpha/2}\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}}   (1)

Thank you for posting your question here at brainly. Below ist he answers:

a. T= d/r
b.  It's reasonable to write distance as a positive number because distance is always positive. You are not able to have a negative distance. Imagine someone standing on a side walk. Even if they are not moving, their distance is 0 which is positive. If they move backwards or forwards, their distance is still positive because it is more than that 0 and they are gaining something.
c. T= d/r
T= 32.12 m /<span>8.8 m/min
T= 3.65 min

Ok, so they are all balanced, so each side of the scale thing is equal to the other side.

A. 3 + x = 8
If we subtract 3 from 8, what’s left is 5 for x
x = 5

B. 2y = 12
Both y weights are equal, so dividing 12 by 2 says each y weight is 6.
y = 6

C. 4z = 11
All z weights are equal, so divide 11 by 4 to find the weight of z
z = 2.75

D. 3 4/5 + w = 13 4/5

Subtract 3 4/5 from 13 4/5 to find the weight of w
w = 10

Let me know if you have questions about this.

Calculate the length of the missing side
Delicious77 [7]
You have to use the Pythagorean theorem because it is a right triangle. Consequently it is the square root of 12 squared plus 17 squared or approximately 20.81
