118 handle bars tells us that there's 118 bikes

if all 118 bikes were regular bikes
118*2 = 236
we would be 33 wheels short

118*1 = 118
we would be 17 seats short

----

if 101 of the bikes are regular and 17 are tandem
101*1 = 101
17*2 = 34
we would have the right amount of seats

101*2 = 202
17*2 = 34
202 + 34 = 236
we would be 33 wheels short.

----

if 17 bikes are tandem, 33 are tricycle, and 68 are regular
17*2 = 34
33*3 = 99
68*2 = 136
we would have the right amount of wheels

---

Answer:
There are 68 bicycles, 17 tandem bicycles, and 33 tricycles.

This question isn't hard, it just takes longer since it's based off of guess and check.

Let h(x) = 3x – 7. If h(x) = 0, find x.
Genrish500 [490]

h(x)=3x-7

And we are given that h(x)=0 and want to find the value of x. Set h(x) to 0 and we get the equation:

3x-7=0

Add both sides by 7

3x=7

Divide both sides by 3

x=\dfrac{7}{3}

This is the answer (as an improper fraction). Let me know if you need any clarifications, thanks!

The cost, c, to produce b baseball bats per day is modeled by the function c (b)=0.06b^2-7.2b+390. What number of bars should be
sweet [91]
This function is a quadratic whose coefficients are a=0.06,  b= -7.2,  c = 390.

Because a is +, the graph is a parabola that opens up and has a minimum.  Your job is to find the value of b at this minimum (at the vertex).  It is

b = -(-7.2) / [2(0.06)], or b = 60.

Production costs will be minimized if the number of bats made is 60.
