First, you have to find out what's 7% of $80. So what you do is multiply 80 by 0.07, which leaves you with $5.60. Add 5.6 to 80 so you get 85.6. Now you have to find how much the 20% of 80 is. So you multiply 80 by 0.2, leaving you with 16. So you subtract 16 from 85.6, leaving you with 69.6. So the total cost of the skateboard would be $69.60.

The side of a square measures (2x − 5) units. Part A: What is the expression that represents the area of the square? Show your w
kolbaska11 [484]

A. The area of a square is given as:

A = s^2

Where s is a measure of a side of a square. s = (2 x – 5) therefore,

A = (2 x – 5)^2

Expanding,

A = 4 x^2 – 20 x + 25

B. The degree of a polynomial is the highest exponent of the variable x, in this case 2. Therefore the expression obtained in part A is of 2nd degree.

Furthermore, polynomials are classified according to the number of terms in the expression. There are 3 terms in the expression therefore it is classified as a trinomial.

C. The closure property demonstrates that during multiplication or division, the coefficients and power of the variables are affected while during multiplication or division, only the coefficients are affected while the power remain the same.

How many times would a member and a non member have to rent a boat in order to pay the same amount
Yakvenalex [24]
X = number of times they rent a boat.

Members
Cost = 105 + 9.50x
Non-members because members don't have to pay the 105 so we gotta leave it out.
Cost = 14.75x

Now to determine whether the cost would be equal, we need to set the two equations equal to each other.

105 + 9.50x = 14.75x

Now solve for x

105 = 5.25x

20 = x

That's your answer. They would have to rent 20 times to equal each other.

What's the answer to the question
Cloud [144]
First, find the slope of the line y-Ax=B
y=Ax+B, so the slope is A, which is a constant.
Because the new line is parallel to the given line, so the slope is also A.
Next, write the new line in point-slope form:
(y-3)=A(x-(-7)) =>y-3=A(x+7)
You can write it into slope-intercept form if needed: y-3=Ax+7A =>y=Ax+7A+3
or standard form: y-Ax-7A-3=0
