Use the data and what you have learned about evolution to explain how mutation is a random process, but natural selection is not
Marina CMI [18]

The data are not found here, but evolution means 'descendence with modification', which may occur due to natural selection and mutations.

What is evolution?

Evolution is descendence with modification, which generally is caused by a process called natural selection.

Natural selection 'selects' the most adaptive variants in the population, which occurs due to the emergence of mutations.

A mutation is any genetic change in the nucleotide sequence of the genome of an individual.

A commensal bacterium?
Otrada [13]

Answer

Commensal bacteria stimulate the immune system of the host to enhance defense mechanisms that block pathogen entrance and colonization. Moreover, by creating antimicrobial properties and signals & fighting with other bacteria for food and attachment sites, such bacteria might effectively limit the spread of respiratory infections. In healthy animals, the majority of commensal bacteria live inside the intestine's lumen, although some are also found in immediate contact with the intestinal epithelium. New studies have shown that commensal bacteria may live in stable stomach lymphoid tissues. But every once in a while, especially when they travel to other areas and leave their natural habitat, these commensal bacteria might cause illness. In both old and very and also in young persons, it can spread throughout the rest of the body, causing pneumonia, infection, and meningitis.

Which agent would cause the least damage to a chromosome?
Alex777 [14]
Hey there!

The answer would be ultrasound.

The ultrasound is considered safe because it uses sound waves for the detection of tissue, organ, baby etc. These waves are considered safe and transfer only a small amount of heat to the tissue in which the ultrasound is done. A little amount of heat is not at all harmful to the body in any means. Early defects of baby can be detected through this procedure, the merits of the process is much higher than its demerits.

Hope this helps !

BartSMP [9]

The development of adaptive traits is a result of natural selection, one of the main mechanisms underlying evolutionary change.

Understanding natural selection is also becoming more and more important in real-world settings, such as resource management, agriculture, and medicine. Even among people with postsecondary physical education, studies show that natural selection is generally very poorly understood.
