What transformed U.S. politics in the 1920s was A. the return of the Republican Old Guard. In the election of 1920, the Democratic candidate strongly supported the League of Nations. On the other hand, the Republican candidate Warren Harding opposed it. His slogan was "a return to normalcy" which meant a return to the conditions before the war. He wanted to return to isolationism, and not to care for foreign problems. He won the election.

Ugo [173]

This question is incomplete. Here's the complete question.

The excerpt below is from a speech given by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1908.

To permit every lawless capitalist, every law-defying corporation, to take any action, no matter how iniquitous, in the effort to secure an improper profit and to build up privilege, would be ruinous to the Republic and would mark the abandonment of the effort to secure in the industrial world the spirit of democratic fair dealing.

How did President Roosevelt deal with the problem described above?

He proposed federal legislation abolishing corporations.

He refused to enforce patents and copyrights.

He arrested business leaders for unfair practices.

He filed lawsuits to break up "bad trusts."

Answer: He filed lawsuits to break up "bad trusts."

Explanation:

Roosevelt applied what became known as the “Square Deal,” an economic reformation directed to the conservation of natural resources, better control over corporations, and protecting the general consumer. His firm antitrust approach, filing over 40 suits against monopolies, gain him the nickname of the “Trust Buster.”

How did socialist parties differ from one another and from karl marx?
N76 [4]

Answer:

Marxists believe that change can only be brought about through revolution, while others believe in a parliamentary route, where socialist parties will change society gradually and internally. The origins of Socialism lie in three main branches. The first of which, "Platonic Communism" is more a theory than anything else.
