Check the picture below.

so... notice "y", is also a vertical angle with the other side.

now, there are a total of 360° total in a circumference... so.... if the left-angle is 68, and the right-angle is also 68, because they're vertical angles, then the remainder is 360 - 68 - 68 which is 224.

now, the remainder has to be split evenly between the two remaing angles, "y" and her twin, thus each one takes half of 224, and thus "y" is half of 224.

68= 4x-2+30 (notice they are vertical angles)
68= 4x+28
40=4x
10=x

68+y= 180 (forms a straight angle)
y=112

Final answer: x=10, y=112

Can someone please please help me with this I’m sooo confused
nexus9112 [7]

When it says x and y are directly related it means that x is multiplied by something to get y. To solve you divide y by x which is 840 divided by 6. Which is 140 then you multiply and solve so the y value for 5 is 700. The x value for 420 is 3 and the y value for 4 is 560.

The pressure and volume of an expanding gas are related by the formula PV^b=C, where b and C are constants (this holds in adiaba
bazaltina [42]

The dP/dt of the adiabatic expansion is -42/11 kPa/min

<h3>How to calculate dP/dt in an adiabatic expansion?</h3>

An adiabatic process is a process in which there is no exchange of heat from the system to its surrounding neither during expansion nor during compression

Given b=1.5, P=7 kPa, V=110 cm³, and dV/dt=40 cm³/min

PVᵇ = C

Taking logs of both sides gives:

ln P + b ln V = ln C

Taking partial derivatives gives:

\frac{1}{P}\frac{∂P}{∂t}  + \frac{b}{V}\frac{∂V}{∂t} = 0

Substitutituting the values b, P, V and dV/dt into the derivative above:

1/7 x dP/dt +  1.5/110 x 40 = 0

1/7 x dP/dt +  6/11 = 0

1/7 x dP/dt = - 6/11

dP/dt = - 6/11 x 7

dP/dt = -42/11 kPa/min

Therefore, the value of  dP/dt is -42/11 kPa/min
