Determine whether each number is prime, composite, or neither.
givi [52]
Alright lets start by defining both prime and composite.

A natural number that has exactly two factors, one and itself, is called a prime number.
And natural number, other than one, that is not prime, is composite.

So lets start on #1: 8. We should know right off the bat that this is an even number and therefore can be divided by 2 (8/2=4). Since 8 is not one, we know that it is a composite number.

On #2 the number is 13. Now try some random numbers (2,3...) and you will find that nothing will give you a whole number (other than one). This means this number is prime.

#3 is the number 24 which is also even and can be divided by two, therefore is it composite.

33 is the number on #4. Now this one you should look at and realize that it can be divided by 11. Any two numbers that are the same (11, 22, 33, 44, 55...) can be divided by 11. This number is composite.

#5, the last one, is number 89. 89 is not a composite number, because it's only divisors are one and itself. This would make is a prime number.

Sorry this was kinda long, but I hope it helps! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

D+7/−3=4<br> What is d?<br> Thanks!
givi [52]

Answer

\boxed {d= \frac{19}{3}}

Solution

Simplify both sides of the equation.

\frac{7}{3} + \frac{-7}{3}

We are left with d = 4+\frac{7}{3}

Add

\frac{12}{3}+\frac{7}{3} =\frac{19}{3}

Hence, d = \frac{19}{3}

Prices of a day ticket entrance at the Disney land are as follows adult 55 children 45 family 170 work out the percentage discou
V125BC [204]

Answer:

15% discount

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:- Prices for a day ticket entrance at Disneyland Paris resort are

adult=55

child=45

family(2 adults ,2 children)=170

To find:- The family discount in percentage

Solution:- According to the question, Prices for a day ticket entrance at Disneyland Paris resort are

adult=55

child=45

So the price for two adults is 2×55=110

and the price for two child is 45×2= 90

but for the family(2 adults ,2 children),the price is 170

So, though the number of members are same but here a family is getting (110+90-170)=30 rupees less than the actual price (200)

so the discount is 100×30/200 =15%

So the family will get 15% discount.

Arrange in order of decreasing magnitude using the &gt; symbol (largest number would be at the left, smallest at the right). 3.9
Yanka [14]
Since the tenths place is a greater order of magnitude than the hundredths place and .9 > .8, both 3.98 and 3.99 are greater than 3.89. Now, looking at the hundredths place, since .09 > .08, 3.99 > 3.98. Putting it all together, the numbers in decreasing magnitude are

\bf 3.99 \ \textgreater \  3.98 \ \textgreater \  3.89
