she is of a different tribe, this makes him uncomfortable. He wants a wife from the same tribe. This will allow him more social acceptance and greater social mobility. He wants a partner who will help him succeed in life and will support and uphold his values and his standing in society. There are other choices within his own tribe that he would be more open to and with whom he would rather make an alliance. It would be better to find a wife and life partner from his own tribe, this would make raising children easier and life would proceed more smoothly. His wife would be more quickly accepted into his life and family and this would promote a more peaceful life for him and a brighter future.

'She was of different tribe' was not a reason for Nnaemeka’s objection to the girl his father has chosen.

Nnaemeka didn't want to the girl his father Okeke has chosen for him. He loved Nene and wanted to marry her. Okeke was against the marriage as Nene belonged to a tribe. Okeke wanted his son to marry the girl of the same tribe in order to get acceptance from the society. Since he was one of the renowned people in his village, he didn't want his son to commit to anything which would turn his position in front of the village.

In at least 150 words, explain how the concept of femininity is conveyed in "bernice bobs her hair."
sammy [17]

The concept of femininity is conveyed in "Bernice bobs her hair". F. Scott Fitzgerald's short tale "Bernice bobs her hair" gives readers a glimpse of what was deemed "womanly" or feminine at the time.

In the narrative, Bernice travels to see her cousin Marjorie. Both women are regarded as some of the most attractive and popular feminine women in their particular native lands. Bernice is seen as being a more "traditional" sort of lady, Marjorie whilst demonstrates a more masculine side to femininity.

Fighting breaks out between the cousins when Marjorie tries to get Bernice to change and align herself with her.

This essay emphasizes how norms can affect people, even if it means fundamentally altering who you are. Bernice experiences a significant character change before discovering her true femininity form and feeling fulfilled.
