Q1. The answer is c. a mechanism of evolution.

Natural selection is the differences in survival and reproduction as the consequence of differences in phenotypes. According to Darwin's theory of evolution, natural selection is the only factor that affects a frequency of different variations and it is the only mechanism of evolution.

Q2. The answer is c. interactions between individuals.

Organisms interact with other organisms or abiotic factors in some system. The interaction between individuals affects their regular distribution. For example, if two groups are in competition for resources, to maximize resource utilization, they will probably live in different areas or will defend territory. Also, some symbiotic organisms are expect to be distributed similarly.

Answer: 5. Amoebocytes have a variety of functions: delivering nutrients from choanocytes to other cells within the sponge, giving rise to eggs for sexual reproduction (which remain in the mesohyl), delivering phagocytized sperm from choanocytes to eggs, and differentiating into more-specific cell types. 6. Sponges form symbiotic relationships with a variety of microorganisms, including bacteria and algae. A symbiotic relationship between organisms is a close ecological association between two species that may be mutually beneficial or may benefit one partner at the expense of the other. However, humans are still damaging sponge populations with weighted nets and even taut fishing lines, which can slice sponges apart by accident. As a rule, anything that can affect the ocean floor will have a negative impact on sponges, as they have never developed protection against impacts. brainliest??

Each biological species is genetically isolated from other species. why do the species evolve independently?
Nookie1986 [14]
Species evolve independently possibly due to geographical isolations or behavioural isolations.

Geographical isolation includes the isolation of 2 groups of the same species. Since these 2 groups live in different locations, (e.g. a volcanic eruption resulting in a barrier between one side of an ocean and another side of the ocean), they will have different selection pressures in their different environments as well (e.g. one side of the ocean may have more sunlight and thus more underwater plantations than the other side of the ocean). Natural selection will eliminate those with disadvantageous characteristics (e.g. Fishes that only eat plants and nothing else on the side of the ocean with little plantations) with unfavourable alleles, and select for those with advantageous characteristics (e.g. Fishes are able to eat plants and other organic substances as well on the side of the ocean with little plantations) with favourable alleles.

Since the 2 groups have different selection pressures, natural selection will occur in different ways, selecting for and against different types of fishes with different types of alleles. Also, because of the barrier, they are not able to mate with each other, and there are no mixing of genes from one side of the ocean and the other side. They are genetically isolated. As genetic drift occurs over time, their gene pools become different from each other. Thus, they evolve independently.

Hope this helps! :)
