A) Relocating/subject

A gerund is specifically, a noun made by adding the suffix "-ing" to a verb. In this case the only gerund is "relocating", which means that that must be the correct answer. So, by process of elimination, A is the correct answer.

The correct answer is A. Relocating/subject

Explanation:

In grammar, a gerund is a word that is formed by adding "-ing" at the end of it and that mainly work as a noun instead of a verb, but that can also have other functions in sentences. Considering this, the only noun in "Relocating because of a parent's job change can be difficult for school-aged children" is "Relocating" as this is the only word that ends in -ing. Besides this, it is important to consider the function of it in the sentence, about this most sentences, are composed by a subject which is the agent that expresses or carries on the action, the main action expressed by a verb and a complement which includes people or objects affected by the action, places, time and other element. In the case of "Relocating" this gerund functions as a subject as it is the agent of the sentence, this means "Relocating" is the idea that is connected to the main verb "can be". Thus, the gerund in this sentence is "Relocating" and it works a the "subject".

Explanation:

Q1:

In order to find the total momentum of the system, we first consider the initial stage when the can is at rest. The angular momentum of the water and the can is 0.

When the can starts moving, the water in the can also starts escaping. Therefore we can say that the momentum of escaping water and momentum of moving can cancel each other out.

Hence the net  momentum or total momentum of the system is equal to 0.

Q4:

Examples of Newton's third law:

1. When a player kicks a football, it moves in the forward direction which is considered as the action. At the same time, the ball pushes back the toe which is considered as a reaction. Both forces are equal in magnitude put opposite in the direction.

2. The Earth's gravitational force is a huge example of Newtons third law. Consider a case of chandelier hanging from the roof. The Earth's gravitational force pulls the chandelier down which is an action. whereas, the same time, the tension in the string attached to roof also pulls the chandelier with equal amount of energy. This is the reaction force.

3. Consider another case of water shooting out of a fire hose. The water moves out of the hose in one direction, which is the action. The force with which the waters moves out pf the hose, pushes the hose in backward direction which is the reaction. In all the examples you can observes that both action and reaction forces are acting in opposite direction but are equal in magniture.

Which problem is illustrated by the following sentence?
IRINA_888 [86]

Answer: The problem that is illustrated by the sentence provided is "grammatically incorrect".

Explanation: The sentence "I joined the others by the fire however they were about to go to bed" is grammatically incorrect because it contains punctuation mistakes. The sentence provided includes a connector ("however") that is joining two independent clauses<u>. Punctuation rules state that a semicolon must always be added before "however" and that a comma must always come after it</u>. In that way, <u>as the sentence provided does not include a semicolon nor a comma, the sentence is grammatically incorrect.</u> The correct way of writing it is: "I joined the others by the fire; however, they were about to go to bed".
