How u would solve this question with showing ur work  <span>So you just find 20% of the number (divide 20 by 6) then times it by 5 to get 100% So 20/6 is 3.33... (this is 20% of the number) and 3.33... x 5 = 16.67 (this is the answer) For 30% more than 30, you follow the same basic rules So 30 is 130% of the number So first you find 10%, which is 130% divided by 13..........</span>

Find 10% by dividing by 10 so you get 3.
Times that by 2 to get 6.
Add that to 30 since it's 20% MORE and you get..
36! :)

Determine the points of intersection of the line y=2x+5 and the circle x²+y²=36
Vladimir79 [104]

The two intersection points are (-2.79,  -0.58) and (0.79,  6.58).

<h3>How to find the points of intersection?</h3>

Here we want to solve the system of equations:

y = 2x + 5

x² + y² = 36

To solve this, we need to replace the first equation into the second one:

x² + (2x + 5)² = 36

Now we can solve this for x:

x² + 4x² + 10x + 25 = 36

5x² + 10x - 11 = 0

This is a quadratic equation, to solve it we use the general formula:

x = \frac{-10 \pm \sqrt{10^2 - 4*5*(-11)} }{2*5} \\\\x = \frac{-10 \pm 17.9 }{10}

So we have two solutions for x:

x = (-10 - 17.9)/10 = -2.79

x = (-10 + 17.9)/10 = 0.79

To get the y-values of the solutions, we evaluate the linear equation in these values of x:

y = 2*(-2.79) + 5 = -0.58

y = 2*( 0.79) + 5 = 6.58

Then the two intersection points are (-2.79,  -0.58) and (0.79,  6.58).

a bicycle tire is 28 inches in diameter. approximately how far does the bicycle move forward each time the wheel goes around? (u
belka [17]

ANSWER

88 \: inches

EXPLANATION

The given bicycle has a tyre that is 28 inches in diameter.

How far the bicycle moves forward each time the wheel goes around is the circumference of the bicycle tyre.

This is calculated using the formula:

C =\pi \: d

We substitute the diameter and

\pi =  \frac{22}{7}

C =  \frac{22}{7}  \times 28

This simplifies to

C =22 \times 4

88 \: inches
