The formula for finding the area of a circle is A = pi X radius squared

To find the radius you have to half the diameter (16 divided by 2 = 8)

Then you can square the radius (8 squared = 64)

Now you can substitute in this would be: area = pi X 64
If you use a calculator (as pi is an irrational number) the answer to one tenth would be 201.1 (201.06)
If you use simplified pi (3.14) the answer to one decimal place would be 201.0 (200.96)

So, we're finding the area of a circle.
The formula for the area of a circle is: 3.14r^2.
So, take the radius, half of the diameter, 8, and square it.
8^2 = 64.
Then, take 64, and multiply it by 3.14, or simplified pi.
64 x 3.14 = 200.96
The answer is 201 inches.

Use Green's Theorem to evaluate the line integral along the given positively oriented curve.
Vlad [161]

By Green's theorem, the line integral is equivalent to the area integral

\displaystyle\int_C(3y+7e^{\sqrt x})\,\mathrm dx+(8x+9\cos(y^2))\,\mathrm dy=\int_0^1\int_{x^2}^{\sqrt x}\frac{\partial(8x+9\cos(y^2))}{\partial x}-\frac{\partial(3y+7e^{\sqrt x})}{\partial y}\,\mathrm dy\,\mathrm dx

=\displaystyle5\int_0^1\int_{x^2}^{\sqrt x}\mathrm dy\,\mathrm dx=\boxed{\frac53}

The average weight of David, Esther, and Henry is 42.6 kg. Esther is twice as heavy as Henry. David is 5.2 kilograms lighter tha
kari74 [83]

Answer:

  53.2 kg

Step-by-step explanation:

Let E represent Esther's weight. Then Henry's weight is E/2, and David's weight is E-5.2. Their average weight is ...

  ((E-5.2) + E + (E/2))/3 = 42.6

  2.5E -5.2 = 127.8 . . . . . . . . . . multiply by 3, simplify

  2.5E = 133 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . add 5.2

  E = 133/2.5 = 53.2 . . . . kg

Esther's weight is 53.2 kg.
