The answer is; B

During metaphase I of Meiosis I , homologous sister chromosomes line up the metaphase plate in pairs. During anaphase I, the sister chromosomes of the pairs are separated and move to opposite poles. This way, the resulting daughter cells have half the chromosome number as the parent cell.

When chromatids fail to separate properly during which phase is this problem most likely to occur
maria [59]

Answer: metaphase

Explanation:

The failure of sister chromatids to separate during meiosis II occurs in metaphase stage. This is called as nondisjunction, this will affect the normal distribution of chromosomal material to the daughter cells. This will result in a problem called aneuploidy. There are abnormal number of chromosome per cell.

If a plant cell is placed in a solution and the cell shrivels up, what type of solution was it placed in? How do you know?
vladimir1956 [14]

Answer: The solution was hypertonic

Explanation: The reason for this is the fact that the cell shriveled up. The shriveling was caused by water moving out of the cell. This movement is likely caused by a disbalance in solutes between the cell and the surrounding, with the surrounding containing a higher concentration of solutes. Diffusion tries to balance this by moving water out of the cell, thus increasing the concentration inside and reducing the concentration outside.

What organelle do frog RBCs have that human RBCs do not and explain why?
Lina20 [59]
Frog RBCs contain a DNA-bearing nucleus that is visible in the center of the cell. Human RBCs do not possess nucleus along with other cell organelles such as mitochondria, Golgi apparatus and endoplasmic reticulum in order to accommodate greater amount of haemoglobin in the cells. Denucleation of rbcs is an adaptation, Which makes the mammalian red blood cell effective at transporting oxygen/eliminating CO2.
