on one day, a store sold 16 boxes of rice, restocked the shelf with 22 boxes, sold 27 boxes, restocked with 30 boxes, and sold 1
elena55 [62]

Answer:

There are 27 boxes are on the shelf at the start of the day.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let number of boxes are on the shelf at the start of the day is x

According to given situations :

On one day, a store sold 16 boxes of rice

i.e, =x-16

Restocked the shelf with 22 boxes,

⇒ =x-16+22

=x+6

But 27 boxes sold

⇒ =x+6-27

=x-21

Restocked with 30 boxes,

⇒ =x-21+30

=x+9

But 15 boxes sold,

⇒ =x+9-15

=x-6

There are now 21 boxes of rice on the shelf.

So,  x-6=21

x=27

Therefore,There are 27 boxes are on the shelf at the start of the day.
