A patient has a history of smoking 10 cigarettes per day for 20 years, and drinks alcohol occasionally. The patient was recently
diagnosed with lung cancer during a lung cancer screening program. The patient expresses fear of death and has nightmares. The patient is divorced. What is the most probable reason for the patient's anxiety and nightmares?
While I don't know the exact choices, if any, the most susceptible answer would be because the patient is going through a lot of stress, and on top of the patients unhealthy habits, is unable to handle the stress in a positive, or healthy way, so the patients body is reacting in the way it is. (This is my first answer on BRAINLY so please don't be upset.)
The hormone level that will be checked will be human chorionic gonadotropin. This hormone shows if she is pregnant because it is released by the placenta in urine. Placenta can only be present if she is pregnant. Hope I helped. Good luck
