a = 40° (vertical angles are equal)

b = 90 - 40 = 50° (sum of all interior angles in a triangle is equal 180 but one angle is 90° so a + b = 90°)

c = 180 - 65 = 115° (angle c and 65° are supplementary angles, so sum = 180°)

What is the average rate of change of the function f(x)=4(2)^x from x = 0 to x = 2? Enter your answer in the box.
bekas [8.4K]

average rate of change is just the slope from (0,f(0)) to (2,f(2))

basically, average rate of change=slope=\frac{f(2)-f(0)}{2-0}

evalaute each

f(2)=4(2)^2=4(4)=16

f(0)=4(2)^0=4(1)=4

so average rate of change=\frac{16-4}{2-0}=\fracc{12}{2}=6

average rate of change is 6
