The correct answer here would be C. The usual story goes that Confederation Congress only assigned them to propose the amendments to the Articles but instead they created an entirely new document. This is their reason, among others but none of them are correct as the Convention did not exceed its authority. The Confederation Congress for one was not a government in the true sense of the word. It was more an alliance like NATO. The convention was a also a meeting about just more than the Articles. The convention was beyond the Congress and its opinion was nothing more than that, just an opinion. Furthermore all 13 states ratified the Constitution. So no the Convention did not exceed its authority.

Why were England's colonial policies from the early 1600s to mid-1700s termed "neglect"?
ludmilkaskok [199]

The correct answer is D) The government did not enforce its laws and trade restrictions.

England's colonial policies from the early 1600s to the mid-1700s were termed "neglect" because the government did not enforce its laws and trade restrictions.

We are talking about the heavy taxations acts imposed by the English monarchy to the 13 North American colonies. This taxation caused anger among the colonists because they considered that the British government abused and tried to exploit the colonies to pay the many debts they had in England.

There were many acts that upset colonists such as the Navigations Acts, the Stamp Act, or the Tea Ac, among, many others. And the worst part was that the colonists had to pay taxes but had no voice or representation in the British Parliament.

These issues were causes of the American Revolutionary War of Independence.

What were two ways that the Industrial Revolution caused Europeans to look for new colonies?
pantera1 [17]

The correct answers are:

A- It created a need for additional natural resources to be used in manufacturing;

The more the industry was developing, the more natural resources were needed for it to function and grow, so having colonies that were rich in the needed natural resources was of great importance.

D- It created the need to find new markets to sell European goods;

The more production in the industry was growing the bigger market for selling the products was needed, so having colonies that were a good potential consumer of the products the industry was making was of great importance for bigger profit and stimulation of growth in production.

What characteristics of government describes Athens, not Sparta?
N76 [4]

Your answer would be All citizens could debate any issue. Athens and Sparta were the main empire's that influenced Ancient Greece. In Athens, the government focused on citizenship and education, while Sparta's government focused mainly on their military and ways they can make it stronger. Athens used a system, which is now called "democracy" and is considered being the birthplace of it. Democracy let's all the citizens in the empire vote for who they want as a ruler. They wanted all the citizens to have a chance to have control of what happens in the government, and give the citizens some power. They also allowed them to get their input on what's going on in the empire, and let them share their thoughts on certain issues. This took place in a big open auditorium. In the other hand, Sparta had two kings that ruled everyone, including the government. The citizens of Athens influenced the use of democracy and kept that system, but Sparta was not a democracy.
