n. The waiting room is full of people and several of them are talking loudly on their cell phones in spite of there being signs asking that phones not be used in the waiting area. You are on the phone with a patient who is trying to make an appointment to see the doctor; however, due to the excessive noise in the waiting room you’re having difficulty hearing the patient. Explain how you would handle this situation?
Put the patient on hold and kindly explain to the waiting room that cell phones are prohibited. If this rule is not followed again, then explain again in a slightly louder but stern voice that cell phones are prohibited in the waiting room.
