9 x 10^5 * 6 x 10^7
First multiply 9*6 = 54
Second multiply powers of 10:
10^5 * 10^7 = 10^12

Putting it all back together we get 54 x 10^12.
This is not scientific notation because the decimal needs to be between the 5 and 4.
